Leather is one of our original ancestral materials. The ability to use and transform skin is common to most of our human lineages and is a beautiful and empowering skill to learn. In this short intro class, we will become familiar with the unique qualities of naturally tanned leather, basic pattern making, and some common tools. History, ethics, and tradition will be introduced and discussed. We will begin a small project which participants will be able to bring home and finish outside of class if they do not complete it during our time together. This is an introductory class and is appropriate for all skill levels.

All materials and instruction included - including bark tan and buckskin tanned by the instructor. Please bring a pack lunch. This class is open to participants age 14 and over.
