We give gratitude to the land, to the beautiful non-human world, to the ancestors and all that has been and continues to exist beyond the names of settlers and colonists. We particularly honor and acknowledge the Chumash and Tongva peoples who live here and have tended these vibrant and vital ecosystems for thousands of years. This is their land and they are still here. We seek to deeply listen to, learn from and work towards reparations by creating genuine relationships and reciprocity with the land and these original peoples. After generations of brutal and unjust settler colonist violence, we seek to be a presence of support, caretaking, listening and exchange.
